Fr. Dean Celebrates 25 Years in the Priesthood

August 2, 2013 - Close to 600 in attendance and nearly $20,000 raised!

Fr. Dean celebrated his 25 year ordination anniversary with family, friends, and brother priests on July 23 during an anniversary mass.  Sixteen brother priests concelebrated the anniversary Mass with Fr. Dean.  Rev. Msgr. Michael Sis was the anniversary mass homilist.

The celebration continued with a fundraiser at the Dell Diamond with close to 600 parishioners in attendance in general seating or pre-event gathering and an estimated $20,000 was raised to benefit Saint William. The pre-event included food, beverages, and followed by an exciting game between the Round Rock Express and the Memphis Redbirds on July 29. Fr. Dean threw the first pitch.

A MESSAGE FROM FR. DEAN

THE PRIEST IS NOT A PRIEST FOR HIMSELF, HE IS A PRIEST FOR YOU. - St. John Vianney, Cure of Ars

TO ONE AND ALL, I AM TRULY GRATEFUL …

I write to you with sentiments of profound gratitude. I am grateful to God for the gift of my life. It has been truly spectacular and much more than I deserve.

I give thanks to my parents for their cooperation with God’s creative power in allowing me to be born. I thank my brothers and their families for their support, as well as all my family who has supported me and my vocation.

I am also thankful for everyone who has taken this occasion of my anniversary to share their messages of congratulations, prayers, and support. It’s been a wonderful walk down memory lane; a memory lane that weaves from San Antonio to Austin to Houston to Rome to College Station and to Round Rock. I am truly blessed.

I thank God for the gift of my vocation to the priesthood. I am thankful to my brother priests for their support throughout these 25 years. I want to take this opportunity to encourage any young man or woman to consider a religious vocation. It is a wonderful life filled with incredible experiences and blessings. We must do better in listening to HIS call – no matter where it may lead.

Lastly, to all the parishioners and staff of Saint William Catholic Church, thank you for the honor of serving as your pastor. What we have been able to accomplish these past four years has been incredible! I look forward to all God has in store for us. Thank you for your constant support.

To God be all the glory!

Grace and Peace,

Fr. Dean
