Do your New Year's Resolutions include knowing more about the Word of God? If so, then come to the Saturday Scripture Seminar on January 16 from 10am to 2pm in the St. William Parish Hall. Scripture scholar Todd R. Hanneken, Ph. D. is Assistant Professor of Hebrew Bible and Early Judaism at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Before coming to St. Mary's in 2008 he taught at Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose, California, and as a graduate student at Harvard and Notre Dame. He has special interests in the Dead Sea Scrolls, apocalyptic literature, messianic biblical interpretation, eschatology (end times), and inter-religious dialogue. He is a regular contributor to the Society of Biblical Literature, The Catholic Biblical Association, the Association for Jewish Studies, and the College Theological Society. He has studied and traveled throughout the Middle East and reads ten ancient and scholarly languages. Dr. Hanneken consistently receives high evaluations for his teaching ability and popularity with students. There is no charge for this talk and lunch is included.
