St. Dominic Savio Summer Sports Camp 2010

We are pleased to announce that St Dominic Savio will offer Summer Sport Camps for boys and girls 1^st-8^th grades.  Our facilities include a new gym and numerous sports fields covering 45 acres in a secluded neighborhood in north Austin. The camps will be held during June and we will have two sessions per day.  The St Dominic Summer Camps will be run by the Athletic Directors from St. Theresa’s Catholic School. 

Clare Sprinkle and Ben Graf currently teach and coach at St Theresa’s Catholic School in Austin.  Combined they have a total of 30+ years of educational and coaching experience. Coach Graf and Coach Sprinkle will be assisted by alumni from St Theresa’s Catholic School that are currently playing sports for area high schools.  Our goal is to have a camper to instructor ratio of 5:1.

Our camps will also focus on our Catholic identity.  Core Catholic virtues such as Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance and prayer will be included in the daily agenda. 

CAMP 1 - General Sports Camp: (Grade based on  2010-2011 school year)

This camp will include numerous sports and games including, but not limited to, Soccer, Kickball, Football, Capture the Flag, and Disc Golf.  This camp is designed to teach children the basic fundamentals of sports and games while having fun.

CAMP 2 - Flag Football Camp: (Grade based on 2010-2011 school year)

This camp is focused on learning and improving the skills needed to be successful in flag football.  Players of all levels will enjoy the camp while improving their individual and team skills.

CAMP 3 - Volleyball and Little Dribblers Camp: (Grade based on 2010-2011 school year)

The morning camp is for students in 1^st-3^rd grade that wish to learn Basketball skills.  We will have portable rims lowered to the correct height.  The afternoon camps is focused on learning and improving the skills needed to be successful in Volleyball.  Players of all levels will enjoy the camp while improving their individual and team skills.

CAMP 4 - Basketball Camp (Grade based on 2010-2011 school year)

This camp will focus on the components of team basketball as well as individual skills to become successful in basketball.  Players of all levels will enjoy the camp while improving their skills.
