Adoration

Perpetual Adoration takes place at Saint William, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, in the Adoration Chapel (next to the Sacred Heart Chapel).  At least two people are needed each hour to spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Please consider registering as an adorer or substitute.  Without adorers, there is no adoration.

Altar Flowers

Do you have a creative eye and would like to help decorate the church?  The Altar Flower volunteers work to provide and arrange the flowers for Mass.

Altar Linens

This group of volunteers washes the altar linens, purificators and corporals used during Mass. 

Altar Servers

Altar servers are children in grades 4-12 who assist the priest and deacon with the books, candles and gifts during Mass, Stations of the Cross and other special liturgical activities. Training is provided at the beginning of the school year.

Children’s Eucharistic Adoration

Children of all ages and their parents are invited to join us for an hour of Eucharistic Adoration for Children. During the hour, the children will be guided through a combination of songs, prayers, decade of the rosary, scripture, moments of silence, the Divine Praises, and Benediction. Come spend time with Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Join us in the Sacred Heart Chapel on the 2nd Tuesday of February, May, August and November at 4 pm.  We follow with cookies and juice in the courtyard.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children between the ages of 3 and until the age of reason or once they have received their First Holy Communion can participate. During 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays, children can attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word at the Sacred Heart Chapel where the readings are presented in language that the children can understand. The goal of Children’s Liturgy of the Word is to teach children to be conscious listeners and responders to God's Word.

Choir

There are many choirs which provide music to all Masses. The choirs of St. William are always in need of new and experienced singers who can commit themselves to one practice and one Mass per week.

Divine Mercy

This group and the Spanish ministry, Apóstoles de la Divina Misericordia, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, once a year, starting on Divine Mercy Sunday.

 

Hospitality Ministry

This group of men and women welcome the faithful at the church doors. Usher and Welcome Center Volunteers assist with seating, the offertory collection, selling prayer candles, and with parish information.

 

Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers are men and women who have been confirmed.  This group of volunteers helps to dispense the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass.  Eucharistic Minister training is provided before volunteers are commissioned.

Lectors

This group of commissioned volunteers prepare and proclaims the Sacred Scriptures during Mass and at other celebrations.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is the largest organization of lay people in the Catholic Church. The Adult English Legion of Mary, praesidium of St. William, meets on a weekly basis to pray the rosary, listen to spiritual talks, and are involved in spiritual works of mercy. They have Sacred Heart Enthronements in parishioners' homes, lead the rosary before various Masses, and assist the Nursing Home Ministry with their work at area-wide nursing facilities as well as retirement homes.

Praise and Worship

This group serves the parish through prayer. The Praise and Worship group provides an atmosphere in which members can grow in their personal prayer life. Members are encouraged to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit and identify and foster their charisms. They meet every Thursday evening.

Prayer Line

This group provides intercessory prayer for the parish community.  Members dedicate their time to requests for prayers and petitions that have been added to the prayer line book which is located in the narthex of the church.

Rosary Group

The Rosary Group invites parishioners to pray the rosary in the church on Sunday at 7:00 a.m. (Spanish) and 8:55 a.m. (English), on Wednesdays at 7:40 p.m. in the chapel, and after the First Saturday Mass in the church.
