Father Dean’s 50th Birthday Celebration Raises close to $100,000; more than 250 in attendance!

March 22, 2012 - Father Dean celebrated his 50th birthday at The Heritage Center at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on March 17. More than 250 friends, family, brother priests, and parishioners from Saint William and former parishes came to celebrate his 50th birthday.  The baseball-themed birthday celebration was a ticketed event with sponsorship opportunities available to help raise funds for the reduction of the debt at Saint William.

“Thank you to everyone who joined me in celebrating this important milestone.  Near and far, your generous support is truly humbling.” commented Father Dean. “Reducing the debt of Saint William, is my greatest financial priority.  With the reduced debt we can continue to grow, flourish, and build up God’s Kingdom.  I am not only asking your help in this endeavor...I am also standing with you.  This is why I donated $5,000 of my own money to go towards the reduction of our debt through this event.  Our goal is ambitious, but together we can accomplish it.  A million thanks to the parishioners, staff, and friends of Saint William.  I am truly honored to serve as your pastor.”

Close to $100,000 was raised, thanks to a generous benefactor that underwrote the entire expense and to the many sponsors and parishioners that attended the event.  During the event, representatives from the Round Rock Express presented Father Dean with a baseball jersey and hat and a one-day-contract to join the Round Rock Express organization, under the stipulations that he may not seek a trade to another team.  Representatives officially proclaimed March 17th as “Father Dean Wilhelm Day” at Dell Diamond.  The evening concluded with a friendly “Roast and Toast” by his brother priests and friends.
