Rave Reviews for Cooking Demo & Picnic with Fr. Leo

January 31, 2013 - Saint William hosted, Fr. Leo Patalinghug, nationally known priest, chef, author and TV host, on Sunday, January 27, for a Cooking Demonstration and Family Picnic.  Fr. Leo shared his cooking secrets to his famous award winning fusion style fajitas which were featured on the FoodNetwork show, Throwdown with Bobby Flay.  Fr. Leo entertained the audience with his culinary prowess while he talked about the importance of family-time centered around shared meals.

The sold out event was attended by almost 300 parishioners and visitors and raised more than $2,500 that will help fund future high profile speakers at Saint William.  

The event received compliments and rave reviews. “His food is as wonderful as his personality,” commented Jennifer Macalalad via Facebook. “The food was delicious,” added Azucena Overman. Olivia Sungahid commented about how much she had enjoyed the demonstration and her overall experience at Saint William, “we had a good drive and a wonderful first impression of Saint William!”

The Cooking Demonstration and BBQ Picnic was part of the Catholic Speaker Series which reached its one year anniversary since its introduction at Saint William.  The Catholic Speaker Series works to evangelize and increase participation of the faithful in the full Christian life of the parish by featuring powerful and dynamic speakers that appeal to a wide range of Catholics, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.
