St. William Catholic Parish Round Rock, TX
"A Family of Faith Celebrating Jesus in Worship and Service since 1940."
Welcome to the
St. William Parish Web Site!
This year the world celebrates 2000 years since the Eternal Son of God humbled himself to be born into the human family in a manger in Bethlehem.
In 1716, the first Mass was celebrated on the banks of the Brushy Creek—just a stone's throw from our current location. At the turn of the last century, residents of this area began gathering in
private homes to celebrate the Mass with priests brought in by wagon.
Sixty years ago our faith got a solid foothold with the building of the first church building. Since then the parish has built two larger churches as Round Rock and St. William have grown together. Now, two new daughter parishes are growing on either side of us.
I believe St. Williams is a good place to grow spiritually. There are many opportunities:
- to Worship,
- to Learn,
- and to Serve.
St. William is a large and diverse parish, a glimpse of the Family of God, with parishioners from literally all over the world!
If you live in the area and are looking for a church home, I encourage you to explore the parish and the different masses and activities. And I encourage you to get involved. Christianity is not a spectator event; it is far more interesting and rewarding doing Christianity than merely watching it. Jesus did not come looking for admirers. He wants followers. Stretch yourself and grow into your full potential as a disciple of the Lord Jesus, Our Savior and the Hope of the World.
If you are a visitor from cyberspace, I hope you will find some good ideas and some good links to help you grow in your journey. One thing is for sure—one day each of us reaches our journey's end. The question is: where will that journey lead us? Life is short and eternity is long. Use this day to prepare well for eternity. The reason we are here is because God needs us to tend to this little corner of His vineyard along the Old Chisholm Trail. Let us continue to expect great things. And let us continue to do great things...to the Glory of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
