Learn about the Good Neighbor Ministry

Why do we exist?

All of us are called to love our neighbor through fellowship and support. This ministry is about connecting you with the many opportunities to get to know your neighbors in the parish and the community at large through Saint William groups and ministries.

What do we do?

Help our parishioners connect with our ministries by organizing ministry awareness and sign up events

Provide support to our ministries in the form of

  • Celebration of Servants – a retreat for ministry leaders,
  • Help develop collateral and promotional materials,
  • Help a ministry promote themselves in the parish and in the community.
  • Help a ministry in the areas of recruitment, retention and recognition.
  • Provide support to the Stewardship Committee.
  • Keeping a current list of ministries and contact information.
  • Help in the launch of new ministries
  • Screen good Catholic movies and socialize.

What we would like to do?

Here are just a few ideas and we’re just getting started. Feel free to share your ideas with us.

  • Recognition of parishioners who are role models for being a good neighbor.
  • Help parishioners discern their gifts and join in ministry
  • Develop a database of parishioners who would like to contribute specialized talents
  • Help small groups form for fellowship.

Can you help us?

The Good Neighbor ministry is in formation and is looking for several volunteers on a short or long term basis to help in the following areas. If you believe you can help in any of the following areas please contact us.  We usually meet on the second Monday of the month in the Portable Building at 7PM.

  • Good listener/communicator. To help us in our information gathering and outreach efforts. Would love to have people who don’t mind calling ministry leaders and parishioners for special events. This is a great way to meet your fellow parishioners.
  • Planning and organizing. We will need several people to help coordinate the efforts for Fall Ministry Fair, Time & Talent weekend and the Celebration of Servants.
  • Communications, Marketing, Writing and/or Graphic design. To help ministries develop collateral for use in the Welcome Center and during ministry fairs. Help ministries promote upcoming events. Help us provide a “Good Neighbor” article for the Newsletter. We recently helped the new Health Ministry get promote their free screening event to the community.
  • Leadership/Human Resources. Help ministry leaders facing the challenges of leadership.

Meet some of your Good Neighbors at Saint William

This is just starting and we're currently taking nominations.

Nominate a Good Neighbor

Do you have someone you would like to nominate as a “Good Neighbor”.  We especially like stories of everyday people living the faith and supporting in small ways
