Confirmation Program 2016-2017

The Confirmation Program at Saint William Catholic Church adheres to the guidelines set by the Diocese of Austin. The offical Diocean Document can be found here.  See section O-7 for the stated requirements & pre-requisites that shape our program. 

Confirmation specific preparation takes place in the Spring through a process of four Super Sundays and a Confirmation Retreat.

Super Sunday Model

·         Confirmation Parent Meeting:  November 16th, 7:00-8:30pm

·         Super Sunday #1: Sunday, January 15th 10:45am to 1:30pm

·         Super Sunday #2: Sunday, February 26th  10:45am to 1:30pm

·         Confirmation Retreat: February 10th – 12th, Green Family Camp in Bruceville, TX

·         Super Sunday #3: Sunday, March 5th 10:45am to 1:30pm

·         Super Sunday #4: Sunday, April 2nd  10:45am to 1:30pm

·         Confirmation Rehearsal: Wednesday, April 19th 7:30-9pm in Parish Hall (with Teen & sponsor or parent)

·         Confirmation with Bishop Garcia – Saturday, April 22nd 11:30am

Eligibility for Confirmation
  • Students must be in 10th to 12th Grade and have regularly attended formal faith formation 2 years prior to receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.  For example:  If a student would like to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in their 10th-grade year, they must have an 80% or better attendance at SWYM (or Catholic Schooling) their 9th and 10th-grade year.
  • Students must be Baptized and have received their First Communion.  If the student has not received these Sacraments, please contact Lisa Salas for RCIA adapted for Children.
  • Students must attend the four Super Sundays and a Confirmation Retreat.  If a student misses a Super Sunday, they will be given a makeup assignment.  Students who miss more than 1 Super Sunday will not be eligible for Confirmation.
