What is Ministry Guide and Discernment?
Potential volunteers are encouraged to attend the Ministry Guide & Discernment before getting involved in ministry.
The discernment is facilitated in a small group session, cultivating dialogue about volunteering, Saint William ministries, and advancement toward serving well.
What are the benefits of attending a discernment?- Evaluate personal time consumption/commitments.
- Discover your potential as a volunteer, leader, or participant in ministry.
- Learn about VIRTUS compliance.
- Enjoy fellowship among others who are invested in helping the ministry develop.

Ethics & Integrity in Ministry
Some volunteers are required to be compliant with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry policy.
The Virtus workshop teaches participants about boundaries, warning signs, and appropriate interactions with minors and vulnerable adults. Similarly, instructions about how to respond to incidents, and discussions on diocesan ethical policies are included.
