Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! What a blessing it is to be with you on these Holy Days! As we continue to celebrate the Nativity of our Lord, I have joy in my heart. What a gift we have been given in Jesus Christ through the fiat of our Mother Mary. These days of Christmas we can continue to reflect on the Incarnation, but also the journey we are on similar to the shepherds and the Magi. We may not be trudging across the land, but, in our hearts, we journey like them to a place of encounter with Christ.
I mentioned in my Christmas homily how we can lose sight of the reason for the
season in Jesus Christ. While there are many distractions in our culture and personal life, all Jesus wants to do is meet us where we are and lead us to healing and ultimately his glory. Each day I ask the Blessed Mother to cover you, the parishioners of Saint William, with her mantle and guide you to the Sacred Heart of Jesus—and that you would know how loved you are by Him. I have experienced His love and mercy in
profound ways in my life. I pray that He will do the same for you.
May your 2024 be a year filled with many graces and encounters with the Risen Lord!
