Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
After much prayer, discussion, and discernment, our finance council and former bishop approved the launch of aCapital Campaign to build a new maintenance shop and buy two lifts, an essential and long-overdue investment in the infrastructure that supports the daily operations and mission of our church.
Why a Maintenance Shop?
The original vision for the parish, captured in the master plan, was to have an on-site maintenance shop. And now, with an almost 20-year-old campus and 10 buildings, it is time to build the shop, one that will:
provide a safe work environment for the facilities team, particularly during extreme weather conditions
offer a centralized, secure and temperature-controlled space to house equipment
and reduce project expenses for our parish over time
Our facilities team plays an essential role in the life and ministry of our church. From preparing spaces for worship and ministry events, to caring for our buildings and grounds, their behind-the-scenes work enables everything we do.
Currently, you will find our facilities team working under trees or patios in all kinds of weather, including the severe heat during the summer months. They need a safe space to work and keep our equipment secure. Cost savings will come over time with the purchase of the lifts for our parish. On average, the cost of renting lifts is $8,300 annually. The lifts are needed to access our roofs, high ceilings in multiple buildings, and our outdoor light fixtures. We need this shop to serve the needs of our growing campus and parish family.
A Call to Stewardship
This campaign is not just about our buildings, but also about stewardship. God has entrusted us with this campus, and we are called to care for it responsibly so that future generations can continue to worship, serve, and grow here.
Our goal of $700,000 will allow us to construct a shop that meets the parish's current needs, while also anticipating future growth. We invite every parishioner and friend of the church to prayerfully consider a gift that reflects both gratitude for what has been and hope for what is to come.
How You Can Help
Pray. Ask God to guide our congregation through this journey, that we may be united in vision and purpose.
This shop will never host a worship service, but it will serve the people who make worship happen. It may never host a Bible study, but it will enable us to maintain the spaces where disciples are formed. It may not draw attention, but it reflects our deep commitment to doing all things decently and for the glory of God.
Thank you for the many ways you serve and give already. With God’s help and your support, we can make this vision a reality. May God bless you!
Ad Jesum per Mariam,
Fr. Francisco Rodriguez III
All proceeds for this project received during the Capital Campaign period (now thru May 16, 2026) will not be taxed by the Diocese of Austin. This means that if we reach our goal, instead of being taxed approx. $70,000, these funds would remain at St. William to further support our project expenses. Our hope is to begin construction of the new shop in the late winter (Jan-Mar) of 2026.
